Samay Raina’s Bold Comeback: New Stand-Up Tour Sparks Excitement After Controversy
Comedian Samay Raina is set to return to the stage with a new live stand-up tour titled ‘Samay Raina Is Alive and Unfiltered.’ The tour will commence on August 15 in Bengaluru, marking Raina’s comeback to Indian stages after facing criticism for his YouTube show, India’s Got Latent.
The two-month nationwide tour will feature performances in several cities. Following the Bengaluru shows from August 15 to 17, Raina will perform in Hyderabad on August 23 and 24, and then in Mumbai on August 30. Next, he travels to Kolkata for shows on September 6 and 7, followed by performances in Chennai on September 19 and 20, Pune from September 26 to 28, and concluding in Delhi from October 3 to 5.
Raina announced the tour on Instagram, sharing a link for ticket purchases. The response from fans was swift; he reported selling 40,000 tickets within just one hour. “That’s a record,” he expressed, calling the reaction “unreal.”
This upcoming tour comes after a recent international stint, which began on June 5 in Cologne and wrapped up in Sydney on July 20, covering various locations across Europe, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.
Raina’s return to the spotlight follows a police complaint lodged against him and fellow creators Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Chanchlani, and Ranveer Allahbadia. The complaint included allegations related to the promotion of obscene content on India’s Got Latent, spurred by the circulation of a controversial clip from the show.
