Netflix has officially announced the release date and teaser for Season 3 of “Alice in Borderland,” confirming that the thrilling games are far from over. This highly acclaimed Japanese series is set to return on September 25, plunging viewers back into its haunting, life-and-death landscape.
Following its success, with Season 2 topping Netflix’s Global Top 10 for non-English TV shows, the upcoming season promises to delve deeper into Haro Aso’s captivating manga universe. Renowned director Shinsuke Sato returns, with Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya reprising their roles as the resourceful couple, Arisu and Usagi, who navigated the deadly games in the previous season.
However, tranquility is fleeting. Now married and seemingly settled into a peaceful life, Arisu and Usagi find themselves plagued by unsettling visions from the Borderland. The situation escalates when Usagi mysteriously disappears, drawn away by Ryuji (played by Kento Kaku), a new character obsessed with the afterlife. Arisu gets pulled back into turmoil after a visit from the enduring character Banda, who remains intricately linked to the Borderland.
Season 3 welcomes back familiar characters such as Hayato Isomura, Ayaka Miyoshi, and Katsuya Maiguma, while also introducing a new group of players. Among them are Koji Ohkura, Risa Sudou, Hiroyuki Ikeuchi, Tina Tamashiro, Kotaro Daigo, Hyunri, Sakura Kiryu, and Yugo Mikawa.
The series is developed and produced by Robot, with support from The Seven. The talented team includes screenwriters Yasuko Kuramitsu and Shinsuke Sato, with music by Yutaka Yamada, cinematography by Taro Kawazu, and art direction by Iwao Saito and Shin Nakayama. Action sequences will be directed by Yuji Shimomura, with visual effects overseen by Atsushi Doi.
