Reports have emerged regarding the potential replacement of Diljit Dosanjh in the upcoming film ‘Border 2’. Speculation suggests that Ammy Virk could take over Diljit’s role, but Ammy’s team has quickly dismissed these claims. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, a representative from Ammy’s team stated, “These are just speculations. We haven’t received any calls from anyone as of now.” The film has already attracted attention due to controversies surrounding the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir.
The team also clarified that there are no current plans to replace Diljit, asserting that his casting was confirmed nearly nine months ago, prior to the onset of the recent controversies. “Nearly half the film has already been shot, and any replacement at this stage would be logistically unfeasible,” they added, emphasizing the complexity of such a change.
Despite these statements, earlier reports suggested that Ammy Virk was being considered as a replacement, particularly since Diljit has only filmed a limited number of scenes thus far. A source close to the production noted that it might still be feasible to reshoot those portions if replacement discussions were to take place.
The situation has escalated further following a letter from the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) to lead actor Sunny Deol, urging him to reconsider Diljit’s role in this patriotic film. As of now, the production team for ‘Border 2’ has not issued any official statements confirming any cast changes.
