PM Modi’s Decade: A Journey of Nation-Building and Global Influence
BJP Member of Parliament Bansuri Swaraj praised the Modi government during a press conference in New Delhi on June 20, 2025, referring to its 11 years in power as a “transformative era of nation-building.” She asserted that India’s national security has experienced a significant shift, highlighted by a “zero tolerance” approach to terrorism, particularly through actions like the ‘Surgical Strikes’ and ‘Operation Sindoor,’ which she claimed showcase the strong leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
Swaraj stated, “The surgical strike after Uri and the recent Operation Sindoor have made it clear that under Modi Ji, India follows a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. Operation Sindoor’s success also brought a major diplomatic victory for India.” She emphasized the unity displayed during diplomatic missions abroad, where representatives from various political ideologies-including Muslim leaders, Congress, BJP, and Biju Janata Dal-came together. “Our stance-zero tolerance towards terrorism-echoed across 33 countries,” she added.
In her remarks on infrastructure, Swaraj celebrated recent developments such as the inauguration of the world’s highest railway arch bridge over the Chenab River, calling it a “symbol of a developing India.” She noted that PM Modi carrying the national flag in Jammu and Kashmir serves not only as a sign of progress but also as a morale booster for the nation.
Discussing India’s foreign policy, which has evolved amid shifting global dynamics, she commended Modi’s leadership, particularly regarding India’s G20 presidency and the inclusion of the African Union in the group. “India is now seen as both ‘Vishwamitra’ and Vishwaguru,” she declared, also highlighting how Modi’s vaccine diplomacy during the Covid-19 pandemic established India’s reputation as the “Pharmacy of the World.”
Focusing on economic empowerment, Swaraj pointed to initiatives like the Jan Dhan Yojana, Mudra Yojana, and the ‘Drone Didi’ scheme, asserting that women’s financial inclusion is vital for the country’s growth. She noted that the government has met its goal of creating 1 crore ‘Lakhpati Didis’ and aims for 3 crore by 2029.
Swaraj also remarked on India’s growing status as the third-largest startup ecosystem globally, attributing this to programs like Startup India. She considered the construction of the Ram Mandir and renovations at Kashi Vishwanath and Mahakaleshwar as markers of cultural pride, asserting that “Modi Ji’s 11 years are not just about legacy, but also development.”
