Arunachal Congress Elevates Bosiram Siram: A New Era of Leadership
Bosiram Siram has been appointed as the new president of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee, effective June 18. Siram takes over from Nabam Tuki, who has led the committee until this recent change. An official communication from the party confirmed the appointment, stating, “Congress President has appointed Bosiram Siram as the new President of Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee with immediate effect.” The party also expressed gratitude for Tuki’s contributions during his tenure.
This leadership shift comes at a time when the political landscape in the northeast India is under close scrutiny. On June 17, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein emphasized the significant developments that have occurred in the region since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) assumed power at the national level in 2014. He pointed out that the northeast had been “neglected for decades by the previous Congress regime” but has since received much-needed attention from the central government over the past 11 years. This statement highlights the ongoing debate about governance and development in an area that has historically lagged behind in resources and infrastructure.
