A manhunt is underway in Minnesota for 57-year-old Vance Luther Boelter, the prime suspect in the tragic shootings of former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark. This incident is being investigated as a “politically motivated assassination” aimed at the Democratic official. In a related attack, Minnesota State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were shot at their home approximately eight miles away from the Hortman residence.
During a Saturday afternoon press briefing, officials confirmed that Hoffman had undergone surgery and was in stable condition; however, further details about his injuries were not disclosed. Authorities quickly identified Boelter, who was last seen wearing a light cowboy hat, a dark long-sleeve shirt, and light-colored pants.
