Empowering Communities: Assam Minister Ashok Singhal’s Generous Support for Goalpara
On June 15, Assam’s Cabinet Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Irrigation, Ashok Singhal, distributed vital government support through two major initiatives in Goalpara district. During a public program, Singhal highlighted the significant role of Namghars and spiritual institutions in shaping Assam’s cultural and moral landscape. He described these establishments, founded by revered Gurujanas, as essential guiding lights of the state’s moral fabric.
As part of the state government’s flagship Asom Darshan scheme, the minister distributed the first installment of Rs 1.5 lakh each to 300 Namghars and places of worship in the district. This funding aims to support essential infrastructure development and preserve the rich Vaishnavite and spiritual traditions of Assam.
Additionally, Singhal provided smartphones to 2,488 Anganwadi workers in Goalpara, recognizing them as the “backbone of grassroots service delivery.” This initiative is part of a broader digital empowerment plan aimed at enhancing service delivery, improving data management, and facilitating real-time communication in rural and child care services.
“These dedicated women are crucial to grassroots service delivery. I’m confident that this digital tool will empower them to serve the community more efficiently and effectively,” Singhal remarked.
