Exposing the Mastermind Behind the Pahalgam Attack and Pakistan’s Terrorism Agenda
A mastermind behind the Pahalgam attack, Saifullah Kashmiri, was spotted at a public gathering in Pakistan, signaling ongoing issues with terrorism in the region. During a meeting held on Wednesday, Kashmiri, a commander of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was seen in the company of Pakistani politicians, highlighting the government’s lack of action in curbing terrorism.
Simultaneously, Pakistan celebrated “Yaum-e-Takbeer” or “Day of Greatness” on May 28, marking 27 years since five underground nuclear tests were conducted in Balochistan in 1998.
At a rally organized by the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML) in Kachhur, Punjab, provocative speeches and anti-India slogans were directed against India. Among the attendees was Talha Saeed, the son of LeT founder Hafiz Saeed, who also contributed to the anti-India rhetoric.
During the assembly, Kashmiri boasted, “I was accused of being the mastermind behind the Pahalgam terrorist attack, now my name is famous worldwide.” He announced plans to build a center and a hospital named “Mudassir Shaheed” in Allahabad, further indicating his intentions to expand influence.
According to hidden sources, Mudassir Ahmed was among several high-profile terrorists killed in India’s retaliatory operations following the Pahalgam incident.
Talha Saeed, however, pursued politics in Pakistan’s upcoming 2024 general elections, representing Lahore’s NA-122 constituency. Despite his loss, he maintained ties with PMML, a political front often linked to the banned LeT.
PMML has intensified its anti-India operations, protesting in major cities like Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad, demanding Hafiz Saeed’s release. Additionally, India has raised concerns over the suspension of the Sindhu Water Treaty.
Despite Lashkar-e-Taiba being banned both internationally and within Pakistan, groups like PMML have managed to retain political relevance and ideological strength derived from figures like Hafiz Saeed, who continues to be seen as a guiding force behind their activities since the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
