Thrilling SpaceX Mission: 27 Starlink Satellites Launched and Rocket Triumphantly Lands on Sea Ship!
SpaceX successfully launched another batch of Starlink internet satellites from Florida’s Space Coast today, continuing its aggressive expansion of satellite internet service. Approximately eight minutes after launch, the Falcon 9’s first stage booster, designated B1080, completed its return to Earth as planned, landing on the Atlantic Ocean aboard the SpaceX drone ship “Just Read the Instructions.” This marked the 19th successful launch and landing for B1080, a significant achievement for the reusable rocket, with thirteen of those missions dedicated to deploying Starlink satellites.
Meanwhile, the upper stage of the Falcon 9 continued its ascent, carrying the 27 Starlink satellites toward low Earth orbit. If all goes according to plan, the satellites will be deployed approximately 64 minutes after liftoff, further enhancing SpaceX’s expanding constellation.
Today’s mission was notable as it marked the 64th Falcon 9 launch of the year so far. Of those, 47 have been focused on bolstering the Starlink megaconstellation, which currently comprises over 7,500 operational satellites and continues to grow.
