
Major Arrest: 2 PLAs and 1 KCP Taken Into Custody, Vehicle Recovered
A joint operation by central security forces and civil police has led to the arrest of three individuals affiliated with two underground organizations in Manipur over the past 24 hours. The operation, which targeted two valley districts, resulted in the recovery of a four-wheeler and three communication devices.
Two members of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) were apprehended near the Kakching Tejpur crossing on Inter Village Road, close to Angangching Eco Park, under the jurisdiction of Kakching police station. The arrested individuals have been identified as Ningthoujam Thoiba Meitei, also known as Sintha, aged 44, and Mayanglambam Somorjit Singh, aged 43, both residents of Kakching District. Authorities additionally confiscated three mobile phones and the aforementioned vehicle from the suspects.
In a separate action, a member of the Kangleipak Communist Party (Apunba) was arrested on the eastern side of Sawombung Bridge, falling within the Lamlai police station limits in Imphal East District. The individual, identified as Moirangthem Hemba Singh, commonly known as Laiba, is 25 years old and hails from Pungdongbam Mayai Leikai in Imphal East District. Police also seized one mobile phone from his possession.
The apprehended individuals have been transferred to the respective police stations for further legal proceedings.
