A 26-year-old man was discovered dead early this morning near the Community Centre in L Block, JJ Colony, Wazirpur, leading to a rapid response from local police and forensic teams. The deceased has been identified as Deepak Kumar Gond, originally from Uttar Pradesh, who had recently relocated to Delhi for employment.
Police officials reported that a PCR call was made at 8:58 AM about a body located close to Sri Ram Medicos, adjacent to the community center. ASI Pushkar and Constable Toppin arrived at the scene, where they found a male, estimated to be between 27 and 28 years old, with blood evident from his mouth and ear. However, there were no visible external injuries.
The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and Crime Team were summoned to examine the area. Preliminary investigations indicated no evidence of foul play. The victim was identified as Deepak Kumar Gond, son of Lahari Prasad Gond, from Maheshpur village in Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh. He had been renting a room next to where his body was found.
Further investigations suggested that Gond may have accidentally fallen from the rooftop of the rented building in the early hours. A broken brick was discovered on the rooftop, alongside the victim’s white shirt hanging on a nearby wall, which supported the theory of an accidental fall. The forensic team conducted a thorough examination of both the rooftop and the rented room.
Mohd Feroz, the landlord of the premises located at Shop No. 74, DDA Market, L Block, reported that Gond had moved in only 4-5 days ago and was employed as an electrician. The body has been transferred to the BJRM Hospital mortuary, and efforts are underway to notify the victim’s family. Police have dismissed immediate concerns regarding foul play.
