Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva has criticized the previous Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government, claiming it ruined the careers of thousands of young people by engaging them in unapproved roles across various government departments, including positions like bus marshals and doctors. He noted that since the BJP took over, the illegal recruitments initiated by the AAP have ceased, while Kejriwal’s party is using the situation for political gain without acknowledging its own mistakes. “Now that they are no longer in power, they are attempting to use these unemployed youths to garner political sympathy,” Sachdeva stated.
He emphasized that the BJP government is dedicated to treating all affected individuals—whether bus marshals, civil defense volunteers, data operators, temporary staff, or Mohalla Clinic personnel—with care and aims to provide them with employment in accordance with official norms. Sachdeva pointed out that the AAP government appointed thousands to various government roles on a contractual basis without adhering to any official hiring processes, jeopardizing their futures. Allegations also suggest that the previous administration collected money for these contract positions.
The BJP government has made it clear that Mohalla Clinics will continue to function, though some will be transformed into Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. “On Thursday, the BJP Health Minister assured all Mohalla Clinic staff that their services would remain under the current contracts for another year, with opportunities for recruitment in line with NHM (National Health Mission) rules for the Ayushman Arogya Mandirs,” Sachdeva said. He further noted that during 2015-16, the Kejriwal government handed out contract or co-terminus jobs to many youths without following proper recruitment rules. In response to inquiries into these irregularities, AAP leaders have devolved into political blame games to distract from their administration’s failures, Sachdeva concluded.
