
3 Women Caught Smuggling 34 kg of Hybrid Ganja at Calicut Airport
In Kerala, Customs authorities at the Calicut International Airport in Karipur apprehended three women last night for attempting to smuggle 34 kg of hybrid ganja. The women, hailing from Chennai, Coimbatore, and Thrissur, had arrived on an Air Asia flight from Thailand, with a layover in Kuala Lumpur. Alongside the ganja, authorities discovered approximately 15 kg of chocolates, cakes, and biscuits infused with synthetic drugs.
In a separate case, two men from Kannur were arrested for smuggling 18 kg of hybrid ganja, with the estimated value of the drugs around nine crore rupees. These men arrived at the airport on an Etihad Airways flight from Abu Dhabi. The recent incidents highlight ongoing challenges related to drug smuggling at the airport, raising concerns among local law enforcement and the community.
