Israel Defense Forces Conducts Airstrike on Hamas in Khan Yunis
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported a targeted strike on Hamas in Khan Yunis, where the group’s command and control center was allegedly situated in the Nasser medical center. The IDF stated, “A short while ago, the IDF precisely struck significant Hamas terrorists who were operating from within a command and control center located in the ‘Nasser’ hospital in Khan Yunis. The compound was used by the terrorists to plan and execute attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF troops.”
The Israeli military emphasized that precautions were taken prior to the strike to mitigate the risk to civilians.
On the night of March 18, the IDF resumed its operations in Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained that the continuation of these strikes was a response to Hamas’s refusal to agree to a U.S.-proposed plan aimed at extending a ceasefire and securing the release of hostages.
The situation remains tense as both military actions and diplomatic efforts unfold in the region, highlighting the ongoing conflict and its impact on the local populace.
