Drunk Man Arrested for Fatal Assault on 6-Year-Old Son in Gurugram
In a tragic incident in Gurugram, a man allegedly killed his six-year-old son after the boy refused to bring him water. Authorities have identified the accused as Suman Kumar Singh, originally from Muzaffarnagar district in Bihar. He was arrested in the Shakti Nagar area on Saturday. The police were alerted to the situation on May 6, when they received a report from a local civil hospital about a child named Satyam, who had been admitted with serious injuries. Due to the severity of his condition, Satyam was transferred to PGIMS Rohtak, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Following the child’s death, his mother filed a complaint at the Sector 10 police station on May 7, prompting the police to register a First Information Report (FIR).
During the investigation, police discovered that Singh, a labourer, had been drinking heavily after failing to find work that day. When he asked his son for water and Satyam refused, Singh reportedly lost his temper, slapped the boy, and, in a violent outburst, repeatedly slammed Satyam’s head against a wall, resulting in critical injuries. A spokesperson for the Gurugram Police confirmed these details during an interrogation. Singh has been remanded to judicial custody as the investigation continues.
