The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made a significant breakthrough by arresting a key Khalistani operative linked to the foreign-based Babbar Khalsa terrorist organization. The arrested individual, Kashmir Singh Galwaddi, was apprehended in Motihari, Bihar, as part of an ongoing investigation into a Khalistani terror conspiracy. This development comes on the heels of another arrest, involving Harwinder Singh Sandhu, a hardened criminal who had previously escaped during the Nabha jail break in 2016.
In its official statement, the NIA revealed that Kashmir Singh has been actively engaging with designated Khalistani terrorists, particularly since his escape from Nabha jail. His affiliations include connections with Rinda, a prominent figure in the Khalistani movement. The agency categorizes both Kashmir Singh and members of Rinda’s terror gang in Nepal as proclaimed offenders in its case.
The NIA detailed that Kashmir Singh’s alleged criminal activities include conspiratorial involvement, providing shelter, logistical support, and financial assistance to aides of Khalistani terrorists. This operation underscores the NIA’s continued commitment to combatting terrorism and dismantling support networks for such groups operating within and outside India.
