
BSF Honors Martyr Deepak Chimngakham: A Tribute to Bravery
The Border Security Force (BSF) paid a solemn tribute today to Constable (GD) Deepak Chimngakham, who succumbed to injuries sustained during cross-border firing along the International Boundary in the R S Pura sector of Jammu district. The courageous soldier was martyred in the early hours of May 11, 2025, after suffering critical wounds in hostile action on May 10.
The Director General of BSF, along with personnel from all ranks, expressed deep condolences to Chimngakham’s grieving family. In honor of his supreme sacrifice, a wreath-laying ceremony with full military honors is scheduled for tomorrow at the Frontier Headquarters BSF Jammu in Paloura.
During a press briefing today, the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, confirmed that five Indian soldiers lost their lives in the recently concluded Operation Sindoor.
“I pay my solemn homage to my five fallen colleagues and brothers from the armed forces, as well as the civilians who tragically lost their lives in Operation Sindoor,” said Lt. Gen. Ghai. “Our hearts go out to the bereaved families. Their sacrifices shall always be remembered.” This somber acknowledgment underscores the ongoing sacrifices of the armed forces and the impact on families left behind.
