
Indian Stars Ayush Shetty and Unnati Hooda Stunned in Taipei Open Semifinals
In badminton, India’s campaign at the Taipei Open came to an end as both Ayush Shetty and Unnati Hooda faced defeat in their respective semi-final matches in the singles category.
The 20-year-old Ayush Shetty put up a commendable performance against the top seed, Chou Tien-chen of Chinese Taipei, in a fiercely contested semi-final duel. Despite his efforts, Ayush fell short, losing the match with scores of 21-18, 21-17 after 42 intense minutes of play.
Similarly, in the women’s singles, 17-year-old Unnati Hooda showcased her skills before being thwarted by Japan’s top seed, Tomoka Miyazaki. The match concluded with scores of 21-19, 21-11 in favor of Miyazaki, marking the end of Hooda’s impressive run in the tournament.
Looking ahead, Indian badminton players are set to return to the court at the Thailand Open BWF Super 500 event, which will commence in Bangkok on Tuesday. Sports enthusiasts can anticipate their performances as they strive for a stronger showing in the upcoming competition.
