दुबरी में भारतीय सुरक्षाबल ने असम-बांग्लादेश सीमा पर सुरक्षा की समीक्षा की, भारत-पाक तनाव के बीच सुरक्षा का नया अध्याय
Dhubri, May 10: Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Dhubri district of Assam has gained renewed attention for its strategic significance. This region, which shares extensive land and river borders with Bangladesh, recently underwent a crucial security review led by Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IPS, Additional Director General (ADG) of the Border Security Force (BSF), Eastern Command, Kolkata. According to a statement released by the BSF, ADG Aggarwal’s visit focused on assessing the operational preparedness and ongoing security concerns along the Indo-Bangladesh international border in both Dhubri and Coochbehar districts of West Bengal.
During his three-day stay in Assam, ADG Aggarwal was welcomed at the Sector Headquarters in Gopalpur by Inspector General (IG) of the Guwahati Frontier, Sukhdev Raj, along with senior field commanders. The discussions included a detailed briefing on the current situation at the border, which highlighted issues related to internal instability in Bangladesh, the regional ramifications of Indo-Pak tensions, and the proactive measures being undertaken to prevent illegal infiltration and cross-border crimes.
The unique challenges posed by Dhubri’s complex riverine landscape were underscored, as the geography presents significant operational hurdles for effective border surveillance and security management. BSF officials elaborated on their ongoing initiatives aimed at securing the area while fostering a sense of peace and reassurance among local residents.
As part of his evaluation, ADG Aggarwal visited critical Border Out Posts (BOPs) situated along the Indo-Bangladesh border in both Dhubri and Coochbehar sectors. During interactions with BSF personnel in the field, he assessed the implementation of their border domination plan and gauged the readiness to counter any potential threats. Recognizing the Guwahati Frontier’s successful efforts in curbing cross-border crimes, Aggarwal emphasized the enduring importance of vigilance, inter-agency cooperation, and public trust in maintaining stability along the border. The comprehensive review reflects a continued commitment to ensuring security in this strategically vital region of India, especially in the context of the evolving geopolitical landscape.
