Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) prepares for Summer Rush with Additional Trains
As the summer of 2025 approaches, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is gearing up to accommodate the expected surge in passenger traffic. To mitigate the burden, NFR has decided to operate four additional pairs of summer special trains. These special trains will enhance connectivity between key stations in the North-East region and major hubs like Bengaluru, Kolkata, and SSS Hubballi.
Starting from April 8, four special trains will commence operations, with the first one connecting SMVT Bengaluru and Narangi stations. Train no. 06559 will depart from SMVT Bengaluru at 23:40 hours to reach Narangi at 05:00 hours the next day, while Train no. 06560 will depart from Narangi at 05:30 hours to reach SMVT Bengaluru at 09:45 hours, making four round-trips in total. The second pair, comprising Train no. 05932 and Train no. 05931, will run between Dibrugarh and Kolkata stations from April 12 to June 30, clocking an impressive 12 trips.
The third pair, consisting of Train no. 07325 and Train no. 07326, will connect SSS Hubballi and Katihar stations from April 9 to May 3, making four trips in total. The fourth and final pair, comprising Train no. 05639 and Train no. 05640, will operate between Silchar and Kolkata stations from April 10 to June 27, also making 12 trips.
According to Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer, NFR, passengers are requested to verify the details of routes, stoppages, and timings on the IRCTC website and social media platforms of NF Railway before undertaking their train journeys. Sharma noted that further information is available on these platforms.
As the summer season approaches, NFR’s decision to operate these special trains is expected to bring significant relief to passengers, ensuring a smoother and more convenient travel experience. With increased connectivity and frequency of services, commuters can now plan their trips with greater ease, making the most of their summer breaks.
