SBI Boosts CSR Impact: Vehicle Donations to Social Organisations
State Bank of India’s Guwahati Circle reaffirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility by donating vehicles and funds at an event held recently at Mayfair Spring Valley Resort in Sonapur. The programme saw the participation of Rama Mohan Rao Amara, Managing Director (RB&O), Atul Rathi, Chief General Manager of SBI’s Guwahati Circle, along with General Managers Safal Tripathi and Abraham Selvin and other senior circle officials.
The bank donated three vehicles to each of three social organisations-Projonmo (Guwahati), Bharatiya Itihaas Sankalan Samiti (Guwahati) and Arunachal Vikash Parishad (Itanagar)—and provided financial assistance to SOS Children’s Village, Guwahati, which works with abandoned and vulnerable children. The contributions are intended to strengthen the organisations’ operational capacity and outreach.
Addressing attendees, Rama Mohan Rao Amara said the support would help the beneficiary organisations expand services and better serve disadvantaged and specially-abled children. He stressed that SBI views CSR not as a mere policy but as a core value, noting the bank’s regular and substantial annual CSR spending. “It is not merely a policy but a deep-rooted commitment that we take very seriously. Giving back to society is not just a responsibility but an opportunity to create a lasting and meaningful impact,” he said.
SBI said the initiative reflects its ongoing partnership with institutions working for the less privileged, aiming to foster a more inclusive and equitable society. The details were provided by the bank in an official press release.
