The suspects have been identified as D. Kamalakannan, a 65-year-old from Pallavaram, and Philip, also known as Arif Philip, a 57-year-old from Tirupattur. Both individuals have extensive criminal records, with Kamalakannan facing 70 prior cases, mostly involving burglary, while Philip has 30 criminal charges against him. Upon searching the suspects, the police recovered a significant assortment of stolen items, including gold jewelry, silver articles, Indian and U.S. currency bills, and five metal statues.

The night before their arrest, they allegedly broke into an office owned by an auditor, further underscoring their criminal inclinations.
