Indian Army Crushes Enemy Strongholds, Seizes Major Arms Haul in Decisive Victory
Indian Army Destroys Militant Bunkers, Seizes Arms and Explosives in Manipur
In a significant operation, the Indian Army’s 4 Mahar Regiment, in collaboration with the civil police, has demolished 13 militant bunkers in the Twichin and Saibol villages located along the borders of Imphal East and Kangpokpi districts in Manipur. The daring operation, which took place on Thursday, resulted in the recovery of a substantial cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives.
According to officials, the five-hour-long operation was carried out based on intelligence inputs received regarding the presence of hidden stockpiles of weapons. A joint team, aided by a sniffer dog, undertook a thorough search of the villages, leading to the discovery of large quantities of firearms. These included a 12-bore single-barrel rifle, a heavy bipod-mounted pompi gun, and various high-caliber bombs.
Security forces also seized two Burmese-made electronic Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), each weighing five kilograms, and two Baofeng radio sets. The recovered materials were carefully documented and handed over to the Yaingangpokpi police station for further legal proceedings.
The continued efforts of the Indian Armed Forces to dismantle militant infrastructure in the region highlight their commitment to ensuring security and stability in the area. Authorities have reaffirmed their determination to conduct similar operations to prevent the proliferation of militant activities and maintain order.
The significance of this operation extends beyond the recovery of arms and explosives. It marks a crucial step in addressing the underlying challenges facing the region, including the presence of militant groups and their activities. The collaboration between the Indian Army and civil police demonstrates the Administration’s dedication to addressing these concerns and safeguarding the lives of its citizens.
The operation in Twichin and Saibol villages is a testament to the ongoing efforts to bring stability and security to the region. As the situation continues to unfold, one thing is clear: the Indian Armed Forces remain committed to protecting and serving the nation, even in the most challenging of circumstances.
