Tragic Incident in Bihar: Class 10 Student Fatally Shot Over Exam Dispute – A Shocking Tale of Violence
In a shocking incident in Bihar’s Rohtas district, a Class 10 student allegedly shot at two classmates, resulting in one death and another injury, following a dispute over exam answer sheets. The student, who was detained after the attack, reportedly used a country-made pistol. The confrontation began on Wednesday during the Sanskrit exam when the student demanded to see his peers’ answer sheets, a request they declined. Despite an initial confrontation outside the exam center that was defused by other students, tensions escalated the following day.
On Thursday, as the victims were returning home after their Social Sciences exam, the suspect, accompanied by friends, allegedly stopped their vehicle and initiated a scuffle. During the altercation, he fired the weapon, hitting the two students. The injured were transported to a nearby hospital and subsequently to Narayan Medical College for further treatment. Sadly, one student succumbed to his injuries, while the other is reportedly stable.
The shooting occurred around 5:15 p.m. near the Kav River bridge on National Highway 2. A special police team, led by Sasaram Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Dilip Kumar, tracked and detained the suspect at his maternal uncle’s home. Authorities recovered the firearm and a concealed mobile phone from the location. Rohtas Superintendent of Police Raushan Kumar stated that investigations are underway to determine if others were involved. Police are examining CCTV footage to trace the activities of the accused and any associates.
The tragic event has sparked outrage among the victims’ families, who staged a protest on the highway on Friday, demanding justice. This incident underscores the urgent need to address school violence and the accessibility of illegal firearms. Authorities continue to investigate to bring all responsible parties to justice.
