Heartbreaking Blow: Parents Anxious as FIITJEE Centre Shutdowns Threaten Children’s Futures | Delhi News
In the bustling coaching hub of Laxmi Nagar, East Delhi, FIITJEE’s unexpected shutdown has left the previously buzzing Roots Tower eerily silent. Known for drawing students nationwide, the centre on the fifth floor has halted due to a severe staff shortage. With staff numbers dwindling to just 10 from 50, operations ceased, affecting over 500 students, some beginning as early as class 6. Parents, now in panic mode, have lodged police complaints citing their children’s academic future at risk. Sandhya Singh, whose child is in Class 11, noted initial panic but mentioned reassurances of an arrangement with Aakash Institute, though this remains unconfirmed.
The crisis was triggered by unpaid salaries, with employees alleging four months of unpaid wages, causing widespread resignations. Teachers reported receiving only partial salaries since April, with promises from management about resolving financial crunches ultimately proving fruitless. As the JEE exams proceed, parents worry intensely, having invested significant sums, some as high as Rs 7 lakh, for courses. Parag Gupta, a parent from Noida, expressed monetary and future concerns regarding his daughter’s education.
Adding to the chaos, Noida’s Sector 62 FIITJEE centre also faced abrupt closure after mass faculty resignations, despite prior assurances of smooth operations. Faculty members moved to Aakash Institute’s newly launched IITJEE program, citing financial instability as their reason for departure. Students and teachers hint at an ongoing exodus since October, with staff even covering out-of-pocket expenses for basic services due to halted company funds.
Despite repeated attempts, FIITJEE’s management remains unreachable, leaving hundreds of students and their families in limbo as they urgently seek alternatives to safeguard their educational journeys.
