Exciting Forward Bloc Rally Announcement: Uniting Kolkata with Passion on January 29
The All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) has planned a rally on January 29, marching from Mahajati Sadan to Dharmatala, to commemorate the birth week of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the party’s founder. This event aims to protest the Central Government’s alleged anti-farmer policies and to promote secularism within Bengal, according to AIFB state committee member Farid Mollah. Additionally, the rally will call for the urgent filling of various vacant posts in both the West Bengal and Central governments.
AIFB, part of the Left Front, sees this event as an opportunity to honor Netaji. Left Front chairman Biman Bose and AIFB state secretary Naren Chatterjee have already paid tribute to him at Subodh Mullick Square. Mollah highlighted that the Left Front government had earlier declared Netaji’s birthday, January 23, as ‘Deshoprem Dibas’, a designation that the current Trinamool Congress (TMC) government has since revoked. The AIFB has filed an appeal against this decision in the Calcutta High Court.
The rally not only seeks to honor a historical figure but also addresses pressing issues regarding agricultural policies and employment in government sectors. This event underlines the AIFB’s continued fight for socio-political causes and reflects the ongoing political dynamics in West Bengal.
