1300 Villages Await Road Connectivity: CM’s Push for Progress Continues
Pipsorang in Tali constituency, Kra Daadi district, has achieved road connectivity 78 years post-independence, marking a historic development. Chief Minister Pema Khandu, alongside Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and other dignitaries, traveled to the newly connected Pipsorang by road, celebrating this milestone. On his previous trip in February 2022, Khandu became the first chief minister to reach Tali by road and participate in the Nyokum festivities there. He emphasized the government’s focus on road connectivity, aiming to link all remaining villages in the coming years.
During the visit, Khandu congratulated local MLA Jikke Tako, the rural works department, and others for their efforts while stressing the need for prompt completion of the Tali to Pipsorang road. Despite being partially kutcha, the road has significantly improved accessibility for nearby villagers. The CM assured residents that the remaining 30% of this 55-km road would be finished within a month, underlining the importance of gradient revisions for safety and ease. The project is a part of the PMGSY scheme executed by the RWD.
Khandu informed that approximately 1,300 villages statewide still lack road access, committing to accelerate connectivity efforts. In Tali’s assembly segment alone, projects worth Rs. 515 crore are underway, with an additional Rs. 44.50 crore sanctioned for new infrastructure, including administrative facilities and township roads. He also announced support for an outdoor stadium in Taki to nurture local youth talent.
The Chief Minister encouraged local officials to maintain a presence in their constituencies to ensure project quality and timely completion. Newly opened roads were inaugurated, while groundwork was laid for several upcoming projects. Khandu’s visit underscores a strong governmental push towards comprehensive development through strategic road infrastructure enhancements.
