Breaking: Security Forces Triumph in Imphal East, Arresting Notorious RPF/PLA Operative
Security forces have successfully apprehended Yengkhom Bhogen Singh, an active member of the proscribed Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF)/People’s Liberation Army (PLA), at Top Khongnangkhong near Mayanglambam Lampak in Imphal East District, Manipur. Singh, aged 50, hailing from Lillong Chajing Awang Leikai, Imphal West, was arrested during a meticulously executed operation. Authorities recovered a mobile handset and a wallet containing Rs 1,500 from Singh at the time of his arrest.
In a broader effort to maintain security and deter unlawful activities, law enforcement agencies have been conducting extensive search operations and area domination exercises across both the vulnerable hill and valley districts of Manipur. Furthermore, vital supplies continue to move efficiently along National Highways 2 and 37. A total of 308 and 212 vehicles, respectively, have been escorted safely by security personnel to ensure an uninterrupted flow of essential goods.
To bolster security measures, authorities have deployed forces at sensitive stretches along the highways and provided security convoys for moving vehicles. This strategic approach has effectively safeguarded transport routes and maintained order in the region.
Additionally, a network of 106 Nakas, or checkpoints, has been established throughout the state, covering both hill and valley regions. These checkpoints have played a critical role in upholding security, with no reported detentions for violations during the operations. The disciplined and proactive measures by law enforcement reflect a commitment to preserving peace and security across Manipur.
This multi-layered security strategy underscores the authorities’ dedication to maintaining stability in the region, contributing to a sense of reassurance for residents and travelers alike.
