Shocking Seizure: Illegal Timber Concealed Under Sand and Hay in Assam’s Dolamara – A Startling Pushpa Re-run Uncovered!
The Dolamara region in Karbi Anglong, near Bokakhat, has become a hotspot for illegal timber smuggling, with smugglers employing creative techniques to escape detection. Similar to the strategies seen in the Telugu film “Pushpa,” these operations demonstrate sophisticated methods for transporting large amounts of precious timber.
Authorities recently uncovered smuggling operations involving trucks hiding timber beneath layers of sand and hay. Following a tip-off, the Dolamara Forest Range Office seized two trucks with registration numbers AS 05 C 4784 and AS 03 AC 6057. However, a third vehicle, also loaded with concealed timber under sand, was inexplicably released by the forest department earlier today, raising concerns about enforcement rigor.
The manhunt for key suspects, including Abdul Salim alias Batu from Bokakhat and Rang and Philip from Dolamara Dadhara, is ongoing, but their continued evasion has led to questions about the efficiency of the crackdown on this illegal activity.
Local residents and environmental activists are calling on authorities to intensify monitoring and hold those involved accountable in order to safeguard the region’s valuable natural resources. There is an urgent need for strengthened oversight and decisive action to combat this illicit trade.
In related news, parts of Assam and Meghalaya experienced an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1, adding to the region’s current challenges.
