Heroic Assam Police Triumphs Over Infiltration Attempt at Indo-Bangladesh Border
In a recent operation, Assam Police successfully intercepted two Bangladeshi nationals, Sabiha Choudhury and Jewel Hussain, attempting to cross the Indo-Bangladesh border illegally. Demonstrating their commitment to safeguarding national borders and preventing unauthorized entry, the police promptly apprehended the duo and sent them back across the border. This swift action underscores the vigilance and readiness of the Assam Police in tackling infiltration attempts.
Just days prior, on January 11, four more illegal Bangladeshi nationals were detained by the Assam Police near the international border. The apprehended individuals have been identified as Fatema Khatun, Sura Khatun, Md. Solaiman, and Md. Yasin. Following their capture, all four were promptly sent back to Bangladesh.
Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, took to social media platform X to commend the police force for their diligence and efficiency. He highlighted the importance of maintaining a heightened state of alert to prevent illegal crossings. “4 more illegal infiltrators apprehended near the international border!” the Chief Minister wrote, praising the action taken by the police.
These incidents underscore the Assam Police’s ongoing efforts to maintain territorial integrity and prevent unauthorized crossings. They also emphasize the broader challenge of managing border security in regions susceptible to such breaches. The effective responses in these situations reflect the state’s steadfast approach to addressing infiltration and protecting its borders from illegal activities.
