PM Modi Proudly Unveils Three Naval Ships, Inspires Mahayuti Legislators in Mumbai with Visionary Address
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Mumbai on Wednesday to commission three significant naval combatants: INS Surat, INS Nilgiri, and INS Vaghsheer, at the Naval Dockyard. This event underscores India’s progress toward becoming a global leader in defence manufacturing and maritime security.
INS Surat, part of the P15B Guided Missile Destroyer Project, stands out as one of the most sophisticated destroyers with 75% indigenous content, featuring advanced weapon-sensor packages. INS Nilgiri, the inaugural ship of the P17A Stealth Frigate Project, represents the next generation of indigenous frigates with advanced stealth and survivability features. INS Vaghsheer, the final submarine in the P75 Scorpene Project, highlights India’s growing expertise in submarine construction through collaboration with France’s Naval Group.
Following the commissioning, PM Modi will engage with Mahayuti legislators, celebrating their state Assembly election victory. Discussions will focus on implementing state and Central government schemes and enhancing communication with voters. Legislators from BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP will present updates on welfare and development projects in their constituencies.
Additionally, PM Modi will inaugurate the Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji Temple, an ISKCON initiative in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. The project, spanning nine acres, encompasses a temple, a Vedic education centre, proposed museums, an auditorium, and a healing centre, aiming to foster universal brotherhood and peace through Vedic teachings.
This visit follows a recent BJP meeting in Shirdi celebrating their electoral success and the reinstatement of the Mahayuti government in Maharashtra. Union Home Minister Amit Shah urged BJP legislators to maintain momentum for upcoming local and civic elections in line with the party’s “Panchayat to Parliament” approach. This visit symbolizes a confluence of national defence advancements and political strategies, enhancing India’s defence capabilities and political discourse.
