Dzongu Prepares for the Namprikdang Namsoong Festival
MANGAN, (IPR): Preparations are in full swing in Dzongu for the Namprikdang Namsoong Festival, scheduled from January 10 to 12, 2025. The festival celebrates the Lepcha community’s New Year and harvest season with a variety of cultural events. On Wednesday, Minister for Forest & Environment and Dzongu Area MLA, Pintso Namgyal Lepcha, alongside Minister for Social Welfare and Lachen-Mangan Area MLA, Samdup Lepcha, visited the Namprikdang grounds to inspect the arrangements.
Minister Pintso Namgyal Lepcha assessed the preparation progress and directed district officials to ensure prompt completion of tasks, underscoring the need for high standards at the festival. His counterpart from Lachen-Mangan, Samdup Lepcha, also reviewed the scope of the arrangements and expressed satisfaction. However, he emphasized the importance of teamwork for a seamless celebration.
