She has called for intervention from prominent figures, including Elon Musk, biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and California Governor Gavin Newsom. Musk has expressed skepticism about the suicide ruling, stating, “This doesn’t seem like a suicide.”

Rao emphasized that her son was on vacation and in high spirits prior to his death, pointing towards inconsistencies in the suicide narrative. She criticized the influence of lobbying in San Francisco, hinting at possible obfuscation of facts.
