Shocking Allegations: Candidates Outraged Over Discrepancies in Preliminary Exam Results
In Itanagar, a group of 12 candidates from the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Combined Competitive Examination (APPSCCE)-2024 have raised concerns over the preliminary exam results. The candidates allege discrepancies and seek clarification from the commission on several issues.
In their signed complaint to the APPSC chairman and secretary, the candidates emphasize that the commission’s advertisement stated the number of candidates advancing to the mains would be 12 times the advertised posts. With 140 vacancies and 17,009 participants, they argue that 1,680 candidates should have been shortlisted, yet only 1,658 were. The candidates question if only 1,658 qualified the CSAT or Paper-II, as cross-verification suggests more candidates should have qualified.
Additionally, the aggrieved candidates demand the disclosure of the cut-off mark for general studies (Paper-I) in the preliminary exam, as many candidates who expected to qualify were left out, causing confusion. They also request information on how successfully challenged answer keys were handled, including whether marks were awarded to candidates who attempted those questions. Concerns were also raised regarding questions with multiple answers, which some candidates avoided despite knowing the correct responses.
The candidates urge the APPSC to address these issues promptly by forming a grievance redressal cell, as outlined in the Arunachal Pradesh Public Examination Act, 2024. They also request the inclusion of 22 additional qualified candidates in the shortlisted results. The situation highlights the need for transparency and accountability in the examination process.
