Tripura’s Progress Highlighted at Good Governance Conference
Agartala, 24th December 2024: Tripura Chief Minister, Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, reaffirmed the state government’s dedication to delivering good governance and fostering rapid development across society. Speaking at the ‘Good Governance through Effective Implementation’ conference in Gurugram, Haryana, organized by SGT University and Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, Dr. Saha outlined significant strides being made in Tripura.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini attended the event, where Dr. Saha highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on the North Eastern region, known as Ashtalakshi. He emphasized the newly established Good Governance Department in Tripura aimed at ensuring efficient governance.
Dr. Saha expressed joy at participating in the event, noting recent developments like the North Eastern Council session held in Tripura for the first time. He praised PM Modi’s commitment to the region’s development, emphasizing the Act East Policy and the crucial role of the North East in India’s overall progress.
Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s prioritization of the region was acknowledged, with Dr. Saha noting PM Modi’s enhancement of this vision through the HIRA model. The Chief Minister detailed advancements in Tripura, including six national highways, a robust internet gateway, and improved rail services, attributing these to PM Modi’s leadership.
Dr. Saha also highlighted efforts to eliminate terrorism, affirming that the North East, including Tripura, is now on a development pathway and free from terrorism. He mentioned the completion of the Maitree Bridge, noting delays in its operation due to evolving situations in Bangladesh.
Emphasizing Tripura’s tourism potential and peaceful environment, Dr. Saha reiterated the government’s focus on effective governance. The conference also saw the participation of Chhattisgarh Finance Minister Om Prakash Chowdhury, SGT University Managing Trustee Manmohan Singh Chawla, Vice Chancellor Dr. Madan Mohan Chaturvedi, and other dignitaries.
