Empowering Launch: Assam Governor Unveils Inspiring Books by Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati
On December 19, Assam Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya launched two books—”Diary (Part 3)” and “Collection of Speeches (Part 3)”—authored by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The release took place in Guwahati and marked a significant addition to the documentation of Assam’s recent political and developmental trajectory.
At the event, CM Himanta expressed his intent for the books to serve as inspiration for society. He praised the Chief Minister’s literary capabilities, which encouraged him to learn Assamese. Sarma noted on his X handle that the books will act as a future reference for understanding his administration’s efforts in building a prosperous Assam.
Governor Acharya commended the Chief Minister’s initiative, highlighting the rarity of politicians finding time to author books. He urged the younger generation to draw inspiration from Sarma’s work, noting Sarma’s alignment with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of development and heritage for the state. Acharya emphasized Assam’s progress under Sarma’s leadership over the past three years.

The diary provides insights into significant events like the peace agreement with pro-talk ULFA and the delimitation exercise, illustrating the seamless operation of the state’s administration amidst his political commitments.
The “Collection of Speeches,” featuring 70 addresses from the past year, celebrates the contributions of various individuals and communities to Assam’s societal, cultural, and economic advancements. Sarma remarked on striving for a hopeful future amid existing challenges like insurgencies, immigration, and natural adversities.
The Chief Minister’s speeches underscore an ongoing struggle between hope and despondency as Assam aims to transition from negativity to technological progress.
