New Delhi: The Congress has criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent speech in the Lok Sabha, labeling his 11 resolutions as “hollow” and accusing him of historical distortion. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra dismissed Modi’s lengthy speech as reminiscent of a monotonous mathematics class, calling his points unoriginal and unengaging. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh dubbed Modi a “distorian,” mocking his penchant for skewed historical narratives that “put WhatsApp University to shame.”
The party also took issue with the absence of key government figures, including PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, during the speech by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, suggesting their absence indicated fear or disregard for opposition politics.
KC Venugopal, Congress General Secretary, criticized Modi’s remarks as an outdated diatribe against the Congress, suggesting the Prime Minister failed to address pressing issues of inequality and injustice as expected during the constitutional debate. He argued that Modi’s speeches are inconsistent with his proclaimed loyalty to the Constitution.
Congress Deputy Leader Gaurav Gogoi emphasized the importance of the constitutional discussion initiated by Congress, stating it was essential for lively parliamentary debate on national concerns. The Congress expressed dismay at the government’s apparent lack of engagement, questioning the Prime Minister’s motives for being absent during the opposition’s significant contributions to the debate.
