For over a year, this leopard had instilled fear in the residents by attacking domestic animals and posing a potential threat to human safety.
The menace of the leopard became more ominous when it attacked Binod Borah’s daughter two months ago. She suffered serious injuries while returning home on her scooty from school in Telkhad Basti. This alarming incident was the catalyst that prompted the forest department to take immediate action.
In response, authorities set up a cage two months ago in an effort to trap the elusive animal. After weeks of anticipation, the leopard was successfully captured late Sunday night.
