Terrifying Hoax: Delhi Schools Gripped by Fake Bomb Threats, Urgent Investigation Underway
Over 40 schools in New Delhi, including some well-known institutions, received hoax bomb threats via email late Sunday night. The emails, sent around 11:30 PM, alleged that explosive devices were planted on school campuses and demanded a sum of $30,000 (approximately Rs 25 lakh) to prevent detonation.
In response, the Delhi Police swiftly launched an investigation and determined the threats to be hoaxes after conducting thorough searches and finding nothing suspicious. Authorities are actively working to identify the sender and trace the IP location from which the emails originated.
As a precaution, school administrations have closed campuses and sent students home, citing an emergency situation. This incident follows a similar pattern observed over a month ago when several CRPF schools nationwide, including two in Delhi and one in Hyderabad, received analogous email threats that were also proven to be false alarms.
