Joyful Transition: Former MP Topon Kumar Gogoi Takes Charge as AIDC Chairman, Ushering in New Era After Prasanta Phookan
Topon Kumar Gogoi, a former Member of Parliament, has been appointed as the Chairman and a Director on the Board of Directors of the Assam Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC). This appointment follows the swearing-in of Prasanta Phookan as a Minister in the Assam cabinet on December 7, which led to Phookan stepping down from his AIDC responsibilities.
An official order from the Assam Government confirms that Gogoi’s appointment is effective immediately. The order specifies that the Governor of Assam, exercising his powers under the Articles of Association of AIDC Ltd., has approved Gogoi’s appointment as a Director and Chairman of AIDC Ltd., granting him Cabinet rank until further notice.
This strategic shift aims to ensure continuity and effective leadership within the AIDC following Phookan’s transition to his new ministerial role. The Assam Industrial Development Corporation is integral to the state’s economic development, and Gogoi’s leadership is expected to contribute significantly to its ongoing and future initiatives.
