Orange subscribers, however, face a paradox: fewer channels but unchanged subscription fees. The Famille by Canal package still costs 5 euros monthly, despite shrinking from 43 to 37 channels as the New Year looms. Those yearning for Disney content will find their salvation solely through Disney+, the entertainment giant’s flagship streaming service.
Disney’s strategic pivot aligns with a broader industry shift towards direct-to-consumer models. By pulling these channels, Disney underscores its commitment to Disney+, possibly steering subscribers away from traditional channels altogether.
