NAGAON: Health Service Festival Commences with Hospital Evaluations
The third phase of the Health Service Festival kicked off in Nagaon district on Tuesday, coinciding with statewide activities. The district’s festival inauguration was held at the district library, with key figures in attendance, including Gunajit Kashyap, District Development Commissioner, Dr. Phani Pathak, Joint Director of Nagaon District Health Services, Dr. Mihir Goswami, Principal of Nagaon Medical College and Hospital, and Dr. Kavindra Dev Sarma, Superintendent of the same institution.
This phase focuses on evaluating the healthcare services of 32 hospitals across Nagaon district. The evaluation was executed by external reviewers, comprising joint secretaries, directors, and senior officials, alongside MPs, MLAs, IAS, IPS officers, and doctors. This comprehensive assessment aims to enhance the quality and efficiency of health services, ensuring better healthcare for the district’s residents.
Simultaneously, developments in neighboring areas are drawing attention. Protests have erupted in Dhubri and Dibrugarh, rallying against reported atrocities against Hindu communities in Bangladesh. These protests highlight ongoing regional tensions and underscore the critical need for robust and effective healthcare and social systems across Assam.
