Shocking Decision: LG Manoj Sinha Swiftly Terminates Two Govt Employees Over Alarming Terror Links
Jammu & Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has dismissed two government employees, citing their affiliations with terrorist organizations. Utilizing the authority granted under Article 311 (2) (c) of the Indian Constitution, Sinha terminated the employment of Zakir Abbas, a school teacher from Kishtwar district, and Abdul Rehman Naika, a pharmacist in the Health Department in Kulgam district. This decisive action follows an investigation that confirmed their links to terrorist groups, highlighting the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism from its ranks.
Abdul Rehman Naika was implicated in connections with Hizbul Mujahideen, a notorious terror outfit. Investigations revealed Naika’s involvement in the 2021 assassination of Ghulam Hassan Lone, a prominent nationalist political figure. Lone, whose sons are part of the security forces, was targeted by Naika in an attempt to intimidate patriotic citizens. Naika’s activities were considered a severe threat to public safety and stability in the region.
Similarly, Zakir Abbas, a graduate of Aligarh Muslim University, was previously arrested in 2020 for providing sanctuary to Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists. Abbas was instrumental in extending logistical support, including the supply of arms and ammunition, while also passing on crucial intelligence about security forces’ operations to his contacts in Pakistan. Even while incarcerated, Abbas continued to engage in activities aimed at spreading radical ideologies, according to intelligence reports.
These dismissals underscore the administration’s unwavering stance against terrorism and the support networks that enable such threats. By purging elements with clear terror affiliations, the government seeks to reinforce accountability within its workforce, thereby ensuring a safer environment for citizens and reinforcing public trust in national security efforts. The action aligns with ongoing initiatives to promote peace and stability in the Jammu & Kashmir region, showcasing a robust approach to counter-terrorism and the maintenance of public order.
