Urgent Appeal: Nagaland Governor La Ganesan Champions a Life-Saving Rehabilitation Center in Kohima
Nagaland Governor La Ganesan has called for the establishment of a rehabilitation center for individuals battling alcohol and substance addiction in Kohima. Speaking at the 37th annual general meeting of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Nagaland chapter at Raj Bhavan, he emphasized the initiative as a vital societal priority. The Governor urged corporate organizations to collaborate with the IRCS through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs to support this cause.
During his address, Ganesan highlighted the IRCS’s commitment to tackling pressing social issues and praised the dedication of its members and volunteers. He also reaffirmed the Red Cross’s role as a beacon of neutrality and compassion, transcending divisions of race, religion, and politics. Emphasizing the importance of disaster preparedness, capacity building, and youth engagement, Ganesan encouraged the society to remain resilient in the face of challenges such as natural disasters and conflicts.
The event, characterized as more than a routine meeting, also celebrates the efforts of the Nagaland Red Cross. Notably, decorations were awarded to patrons, vice-patrons, and the Voluntary Blood Donors Association. Additionally, a new blood donation app developed by Rishav Sethi was launched to enhance blood donation efforts in the region.
Ganesan’s call to action underscores a pressing need for enhanced humanitarian support, aiming to fortify the social fabric of Nagaland through compassionate and strategic interventions.
