Exciting Reopening: Manipur Schools Joyfully Resume Regular Classes on November 25
The Manipur government has announced the resumption of regular classes for all schools across the state, encompassing government, government-aided, private, and central institutions, effective Monday, November 25, 2024. This decision follows an official directive from the Department of Education (Schools), as stated in letter no. AS/10/2024-EDN(S)-EDN(S) dated November 24, 2024.
Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) have been tasked with communicating this update within their respective areas and guaranteeing that all preparations are in place for a seamless reopening. The Education Department has emphasized the importance of effective coordination among stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition back to standard academic operations.
The recent directive comes after the temporary closure of all private unaided and central schools in the valley districts, from November 21 to 23, due to concerns over student safety. This decision was made based on consultations with the Home Department and was formalized in an order issued by L. Nandakumar Singh, the Director of Education for Manipur. According to Singh, ensuring the safety of students was the primary concern behind the closure.
Schools have been instructed to upload the closure and reopening orders on their official websites to keep all parties informed. It is imperative for Zonal Education Officers and school administrators to take the necessary steps to communicate and implement these measures.
With the scheduled reopening, the Department of Education urges all educational institutions to focus on facilitating a smooth and safe resumption of classes, thereby prioritizing the well-being and academic development of the students.
