In a tragic accident in Assam’s Bajali district early Saturday, five individuals lost their lives and two more sustained critical injuries when their van collided with a stationary truck, local police reported. The victims were returning to Nalbari after attending the ongoing ‘Ras’ festival when their vehicle struck the truck in Bhabanipur. The deceased have been identified as Ashish Habib Khan, Mizanur Rahman, Royal Khan, Mizanur Khan, and Moinul Haque. The injured, Amir Khan and Kazi Chakra Ahmed, were rushed to Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital, where their condition remains critical. This incident underscores the critical importance of road safety, especially during festive times when travel increases. The community mourns the loss of these lives as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
