Malki SC reclaimed the provisional top spot in the Shillong Sports Association’s First Division 2024 after a closely-fought 2-1 victory over Pohkseh SC at First Ground, Polo, on Monday. The first half ended without any goals, but Malki SC broke the deadlock in the second half with a goal from Pynhun Nongshli in the 50th minute, followed by Elisha Ryntathiang’s strike in the 62nd minute. Pohkseh SC managed to pull one back through a 72nd-minute goal by Stevenson Shadap. This victory marks Malki’s fifth win of the season, bringing them to 15 points, just one point ahead of Nongkseh SC and Mawtawar SC, although the latter has a game in hand and could reclaim the top spot. Upcoming fixtures on Tuesday include Mylliem SC vs. Nongrah SC at 11:30 AM and Lawsohtun SC vs. Mawtawar SC at 2:30 PM, both at First Ground.
