Exciting Opportunities: Govt to Fill 253 Posts and Boost Allowances for Tripura Police and TSR!
The Tripura government has announced plans to recruit 253 new personnel across various departments, complementing its efforts to strengthen public services. This decision was highlighted during a press conference held by Cabinet Spokesperson and Tourism and Transport Minister, Sushanta Chowdhury, following a cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on November 19, 2024.
The recruitment drive aims to fill 125 Physical Education Teacher positions within the School Education Department via examinations, employ 75 Junior Physical Instructors under the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, and appoint 53 Fishery Officers, Grade-01, through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC). This strategic hiring is anticipated to enhance educational and recreational services, as well as optimize fisheries management.
In addition to staffing enhancements, the cabinet approved significant increments in dress and ration allowances for the personnel of Tripura Police and the Tripura State Rifles (TSR). This follows an earlier announcement made by the Chief Minister before Diwali about the allowance hikes. Both the Tripura Police and TSR personnel will now receive an increased ration allowance from ₹1,000 to ₹2,000. Similarly, the dress allowance for TSR personnel has been raised from ₹10,000 to ₹12,000 annually, while for Tripura Police, it now stands at ₹9,500, up from ₹7,500.
This policy shift affects a total of 21,794 personnel and will incur an extra expenditure of ₹26.15 crore on the state budget. These measures reflect the state government’s commitment to improving the work conditions and welfare of its law enforcement officials, thereby enhancing morale and dedication in serving the community.
