Revolutionary e-Khata Unveils Shocking Duplicate Property Entries in Bengaluru’s BBMP Records
The introduction of the new e-Khata system by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has uncovered duplication issues in existing property records previously maintained through manual registers. Many property owners, upon searching for their records on the online platform, have been surprised to find duplicate listings of their properties. For instance, Murali Krishna from Kengeri discovered two drafts under different property identification numbers when attempting to download his e-Khata. This issue stems from dual entries made when properties were transitioned from City Municipal Council records to the BBMP database. BBMP Special Commissioner (Revenue) Munish Moudgil assured property owners that despite the duplication, only one e-Khata will be finalized and approved, ensuring the legitimacy of property documentation. Over 48,000 final e-Khatas have been issued so far, underlining the effectiveness of the new digital system in streamlining property records.
