Delhi continues to grapple with severe air pollution as the air quality index (AQI) has remained in the “severe” category for three consecutive days. On Saturday morning, the AQI stood at 407, according to the Sameer app, reflecting hazardous conditions. In response, the Delhi government has enforced Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). Measures include a ban on private BS III petrol and BS IV diesel vehicles, restrictions on entry for interstate diesel and petrol buses, and limitations on certain construction activities. Government offices are also implementing staggered timings to mitigate the pollution crisis. The city’s minimum temperature was recorded at 15.3°C, slightly higher than the seasonal average, with predictions of smog and shallow fog by the India Meteorological Department. Non-compliance with vehicle bans could result in a fine of ₹20,000. Despite the severe pollution, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 33°C, with morning humidity at a high 94%.
